Melissa is a the owner of Zurita Christian Counseling Company and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a deep passion to help individuals navigate through life challenges. After serving as a missionary, she received a MS Counseling Psychology from Nelson University (formerly known as Southwestern Assemblies of God University).  She is a Certified Level 1 Practitioner of Transformational Schema Therapy, which treats emotional wounds and trauma. Additionally, she facilitates couples’ growth through Prepare/Enrich certification. She is training to work with NonSuicidal Self Injury. She is available to provide Christian Counseling for those who express a desire for this.
 
Melissa has a deep compassion to comfort those who have experienced loss. From her personal experience, she was previously married and widowed. She understands what it means to heal significant loss and commit to a devoted love again. Her personal experience with loss, including being widowed and finding love again, enhances her empathetic approach, providing a safe space for clients to heal and grow.
 
She has a heart of empathy and care to work with individuals, couples, engaged couples, marrieds, divorced, widowers/widows, families, adults, and teens (ages 13-17). She specializes in several areas, and this list includes some of these, but it is not limited to these: anxiety, loss, trauma, grief, anger, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, life transitions, and other areas.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, creating art, staying active outdoors, and being actively involved with her church, all of which enrich her holistic approach to therapy.
